Attention all weevil magazine creators! Are you passionate about publishing magazines and crafting imaginative tales? Like writing ghost stories? Perhaps you have a tale to tell about the ancient witchcraft folklore of the Binscape or the spirits that linger at Flem Manor?

You might have seen that Weevil News just got a wild new look for the spookiest time of the year. Halloween is right around the corner, and we’re gearing up for an awesome night this year. A new magazine competition is here to kick things off!

I’m challenging you to write a SPOOKY STORY! You have complete creative freedom, so go ahead and let your imagination run wild! Use your best photos, pick engaging fonts, decorate your issue with creepy stickers and colours, and make sure to fill your issue with rich, detailed writing!

I will announce the winner and runner-ups on Halloween night (31st October 2025), who will each earn the following HAUNTED PRIZE PACK:

• 2 GRAND-WINNERS: 100,000 Mulch, 800 Dosh, 8,000 XP, Editor’s Award Plaque (new!), Scribbles Trophy
• 4 RUNNER-UPS: 50,000 Mulch, 400 Dosh, 4,000 XP, Scribbles Figure

Kick off your magazine issues at the Editor’s Office in Flem Manor! Anyone who publishes a SPOOKY STORY issue this month will earn an extra editorial earning of 1,000 Mulch, which you can collect at the Cash Machines once your issue gets the green light for publication!

If you happen to publish more than one spooky story, just keep in mind that I get to choose your top piece.
